Worship Service:
   Sunday 10:00 AM

When you enter our Narthex you will be see many fellow church goers that are that are gathered there greeting each other. You can take a minute to view the many photo displays that show the various activities we participate in.  You will notice that most of us dress casually so that we can be comfortable. In the rear of the Sanctuary you will find our Children's Corner which is supervised by members of the Board of Christian Education. Here children can remain part of the Worship Service while keeping busy with coloring, puzzles, and other activities.

As you enter the sanctuary, you will find it inviting, warm and peaceful. It invites you to worship and makes you feel closer to God. You may be entertained by the Children's Moment, when many time we are surprised because "Kids say the darndest things". The sermon is almost always based on the Bible passage for the week. It is always down to earth and done in a way that is easy to understand.

Feeling very upbeat  we leave the sanctuary and are greeted by coffee and fellowship. We get to chit chat with old freinds or our visitors of the day. If you are looking for a comfortable freindly atmosphere give us a visit.

Communion Sunday is observed on the first Sunday of the month. This is celebrated as a family event. In our tradition children are invited to fully participate in Holy Communion. Parents are asked to make the decision concerning their child's participation. The Pastor is available for assistance and a Communion class will be scheduled for children in first and second grade.

Our Sanctuary, which is warm and inviting is used for all our Worship Services with the exception of some special services that are held in the Halford Chapel.

Halford Chapel is a small intimate worship Center and is used for Lenten and Advent services. It is also very popular for small Weddings.

Today, we have poster displays in the narthex with pictures of the various activities in which we the Christian Community of Riverside are engaged.

Some people remark that we are a busy church. We do a lot for the community.
Well maybe, but I've got news for this community.
This is how we worship.

We don't just gather together to sing hymns on Sunday.

We care for children during the week.
This is an act of worship.

We collect and distribute food for the hungry.
This is an act of worship.

We repair and build homes.
This is an act of worship.

We are practicing what Micah suggested and what Jesus taught.

We are doing justice, loving mercy and walking humbly with our God all over town.

AMEN
