Hand Bell Choir

The hand bell Choir was formed in the Fall of 2003 when a set of English Hand Bells was purchased. The two octave set of bells is a finely crafted instrument that produces remarkably beautiful music. The bells are engaged to enhance worship for holidays and special occasions throughout the year. The choir has performed in other churches and at nursing homes.
The adult choir meets for practice Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Although the participants have a wide range of music experience, most are untrained. Essentially the bells are a percussion instrument and knowing music notation is not required. We generally use music specifically arranged for beginners. To allow us to expand our repertory, we are currently recruiting new members. Training for new members will be scheduled. Don't be afraid, it's easier than you think. Interested bell players are invited to contact the church office at 433-2039.

Choir

The choir is the foundation of our Sunday worship music program. Singing is one of the most essential elements of worship. Music is the language of the heart. The choir has a special responsibility to enrich the services with anthems and to lead the people in Congregational singing.

Gospel Choir
"Voices in praise"

Gospel and contemporary Christian music has become a major feature of the music program at Riverside. The "Voices in Praise" regularly contribute to worship on Sundays and holidays. They have performed in concert and at community events.

The Gospel Choir is shown with the Men of Hope and Voice of Faith from the Shephard of the Valley Gospel Group with whom they have performed.

 Children's Hand Bell Choir

The two octave set of Enlish hand bells is played masterfully by the children's hand bell choir under the direction of Nicole Dyszlewski, Esq. The children perform at worship services, concerts and community events. Children are not required to have prior music instruction. Training in bell playing technique and music notation is provided.

 Youth Choir

The youth choir performs for pageants and youth services. It meets intermittently through out the school year to prepare for an event. This usually means about four weeks os practice before a major performance. The choir frequently includes solos and duets.

 Instrumentalists

Instrumental music is part of our music program. The Afterschool with the Arts program offers music instruction and children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. Solo performers and ensembles contrubute to the music program at Riverside.
